Shamanism
Hi all.. I think that if I was to subclassify myself it would be as a Pagan Shaman. Shamanism seems to make the most sense to me. Shamans travel in three worlds.. the upperworld, this world, and the lower world.. I was doing that even before I knew anything about it.. As a child I remember having dreams of climbing a giant tree.. and exploring all the different types of worlds that I found there. Problem is.. as an adult I forgot how to get there and what to do if I happened to find myself there in a dream. I had a lot to relearn.. and when I did it seemed like going home to me. I like the Shaman's journey.. and the fact that a Shaman is an astral traveler. I also like the idea that a Shaman heals the soul first, and then the body invariably follows. I love the medicine wheel. Traveling to the four directions and the meanings of those directions.. the power animals... the energies present there also make sense in my own plethoria of beliefs.
