The Devil made me do it?
Ahhhh.. Satan... The Christian concept of evil. Actually, he didn't kill anyone according to the Bible. He tempted them, but he didn't kill them. Even with the story of Job... he only beat up Job because God told him to do it. If you read the bible it doesn't really say all that much about him. He is a minor character... which somehow has been transformed into a major character. I remember as a child in Sunday school asking the Pastor what he did that was so bad that he got kicked out of Heaven... I figured he must have written a bad word on God's back... a kid I knew got kicked out of school for that.. But, no, the Pastor informed me that he sat in the seat reserved for Jesus.. hmmmmmmm. So, sitting in the wrong seat gets you kicked out of Heaven.. I remember thinking that I would have to be really careful about that in school from now on. Seems to be that all the bloodshed was commanded by God and not Satan. Satan got the blame for a whole lot of things, but he really didn't do it. Anyway, that is my take on Beezlebub, Lucifer, Satan.. etc... Will be interesting to hear other ideas on this subject I'm sure. Love and Light... Linda
